USTR Grants First Batch of Section 301 Exclusions
On December 28, the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) released their first batch of exemptions from the first tranche of Section 301 tariffs that took effect on July 6. In the Federal Register notice, USTR noted that “the exclusions […] cover approximately 1,000 separate exclusion requests: the excluded 10-digit subheadings cover 918 separate requests, and the 24 specially drafted product descriptions cover approximately 66 separate requests.”
The exclusions are retroactive to the July 6, 2018, effective date and extend for a year after the publication date, December 21, 2019.
